Daniel Dauphin
Raised in Louisiana, Daniel had a passion for horses from an early age. Not being born into a family with horses, he rode with a childhood friend’s family regularly before he finally earned and saved enough money to buy his own horse at the age of 16 without his parents knowing about it. Attending La Tech University, Daniel graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science in ’99.
Daniel spent about 6 years, in total, apprenticing under 3 different Cutting Horse trainers and to date has started horses amassing winnings of well over $1 million in cutting including finalists in major aged events, and the only horse from Louisiana to ever make the NCHA World Championship Futurity Finals.
Daniel passionately uses his knowledge and experience to help others become safer, smarter, and more comfortable and confident in their own horsemanship. He has worked with riders as young as 2 to those up into their 70’s. He’s also worked with many different breeds and riders of all disciplines, from beginners to college equine behavior and training classes, to world champs, and even continuing education for pros at large lesson barns. Daniel spent 3 years making a 5-and-a-half-hour video on bits and bitting. It has been very well reviewed and received and is even being used as a teaching tool in over 25 Equine Sciences/Studies programs in various US universities.
